Isaiah 58 verses 1 to 12 begins with God telling His servant to raise his voice like a trumpet and openly confront the people’s sin and hypocrisy. The chapter exposes empty religion, fasting and worship that look spiritual but do not produce justice, humility, or love for others. God defines the fast He accepts: to break oppression, treat people fairly, share food with the hungry, bring the homeless into shelter, clothe the needy, and stop exploiting others. When the people turn from selfishness and care for the vulnerable, God promises light, healing, guidance, provision, answered prayer, and restoration. The result is a rebuilt community, repaired foundations, and lives that reflect God’s righteousness.
