Isaiah 21 contains prophetic messages of judgment against nations. The chapter includes a vision about the fall of Babylon, and it also contains burdens concerning Edom and Arabia. A key theme is that God sees what is coming, and He appoints watchmen to observe, to announce what they see, and to warn the people.
Today’s Clarion Call Daily scripture Isaiah 21 verses 1 to 10 describes a frightening vision of disaster coming like a storm. The prophet feels the weight of what he is seeing and hearing. God speaks about an invading army and the collapse that is coming, and the atmosphere is filled with dread. A watchman is placed on the tower and commanded to report what he sees. The watchman watches carefully and then announces the message, Babylon has fallen, its idols are broken. The passage ends with God speaking to His people like grain that has been threshed, meaning they have been pressed and tested, and the prophet declares only what he has heard from the Lord.
