John 10 presents Jesus as the Good Shepherd and the true protector of His people. The chapter contrasts Jesus with thieves and false leaders who harm the flock. Jesus explains that His sheep know His voice, He lays down His life for them, and He gathers one flock under one Shepherd. The chapter also shows growing conflict, some reject Jesus, while others wrestle with His claims and His works.
Today’s Clarion Call Daily scripture John 10 verses 22 to 30 takes place during the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem. The religious leaders press Jesus to say plainly if He is the Christ. Jesus answers that He has already told them through His works, but they do not believe because they are not His sheep. Jesus then gives a clear mark of His true followers, My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me. He promises them eternal life and says they will never perish, and no one can snatch them out of His hand. Jesus also says the Father, who gave them to Him, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of the Father’s hand. He ends with a powerful claim, I and the Father are one. The message is that true believers listen to Jesus, follow Him, and are kept secure by His power and the Father’s power.
