Yesterday, we explored the three-day cycle—a pattern of transition, transformation, and triumph. Today is Day Two—Saturday, the day of waiting, stretching, and uncertainty. Tomorrow is Day Three—Sunday, when we physically step into new territory and begin a new season.
But beyond the literal Day Two, there is also a spiritual Day Two—a season of testing, refining, and endurance. Some of us, myself included, have been in this Day Two stretch for years.
How long has your Day Two been?
How are you feeling in the waiting?
The Hardest Part: The In-Between
Ever felt like you’re stuck in the middle of something? Like you’ve left where you were, but you’re not quite where you’re supposed to be?
That’s Day Two—the Stretching Day. It’s the waiting, the testing, and the tension between what was and what will be.
Think of the Israelites. They had left Egypt, but they weren’t in the Promised Land yet. They were free but not home.
This is where many people start questioning:
• Did I hear God right?
• Why hasn’t anything changed yet?
• How much longer?
This is the faith zone—where we trust God with no visible proof that things are shifting.
What’s Going On in Your Heart?
God is using this season to test and strengthen your faith. He’s refining you, stretching you, and getting your heart ready for what’s ahead.
This season reveals what’s inside us:
• Do you still trust God even when nothing is changing?
• Will you keep obeying even if the promise seems delayed?
• Are you willing to let go of control and fully submit?
The stretching is not punishment—it’s preparation.
Key Scriptures to Hold Onto
🔹 Isaiah 40:31 (AMP) – “But those who wait for the Lord… will gain new strength… They will run and not become weary.”
(Waiting isn’t wasting—it’s building strength!)
🔹 James 1:2-4 (AMP) – “…the testing of your faith produces endurance… so that you may be perfect and completely developed, lacking in nothing.”
(This stretching is growing you!)
🔹 Psalm 27:13-14 (AMP) – “Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage.”
(God is working—even if you can’t see it yet.)
Biblical Examples of the Stretching Season
You’re not the only one who’s been through a long Day Two. Look at these examples:
1. The Israelites in the Wilderness (Exodus 15–Deuteronomy 34)
• They were free but not yet home.
• Instead of trusting, they complained and doubted—and it cost them 40 years!
2. Joseph in Prison (Genesis 39–41)
• He had dreams of ruling, but then he was betrayed, falsely accused, and locked up.
• Years passed, but God was preparing him for something greater.
3. David Running from Saul (1 Samuel 16–31)
• Anointed as king, but had to wait and survive before stepping into his calling.
• He didn’t rush the process—he trusted God’s timing.
4. Jesus in the Tomb (Matthew 27:57–28:6)
• Between crucifixion and resurrection, it looked like all hope was lost.
• But God was working behind the scenes.
What’s the Enemy Up To?
This is where the enemy starts messing with your mind. If he can’t stop you, he’ll try to make you give up.
• “Did God really say that?” (Planting doubt.)
• “It’s taking too long. Maybe you should do it your way.” (Tempting you to rush.)
• “God is blessing other people, but not you.” (Making you compare.)
• “Maybe you heard God wrong.” (Trying to shake your confidence.)
It’s the same trick he used on Eve in the Garden (Genesis 3:1-6) and on Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). He wants you to second-guess God’s plan.
How to Stand Strong in the Stretching
✅ Worship through the waiting (Habakkuk 3:17-18)
✅ Keep declaring God’s promises (Hebrews 11:1)
✅ Stay obedient even when it’s hard (Galatians 6:9)
✅ Encourage yourself (1 Samuel 30:6)
Here’s the reality: You don’t have to feel faith to walk in faith. Even if you’re struggling, keep moving forward.
God Will Deliver – Hold On!
God is never late. He sees every tear, hears every prayer, and has not forgotten you.
🔹 Psalm 34:17 (AMP) – “When the righteous cry [for help], the Lord hears and rescues them.”
🔹 2 Timothy 2:13 (AMP) – “If we are faithless, He remains faithful.”
Think about:
• Daniel in the lions’ den – God shut the lions’ mouths.
• The three Hebrew boys – The fire didn’t touch them.
• Paul and Silas in prison – They praised, and chains broke.
Your stretching season is not permanent.
The Danger of Doubt
Doubt can delay or even disqualify us from stepping into God’s promise.
🚫 The Israelites doubted → 40 years in the wilderness (Numbers 14:22-23).
🚫 Zacharias doubted the angel → He lost his voice until John was born (Luke 1:18-20).
🚫 Peter doubted → He sank when he walked on water (Matthew 14:28-31).
Doubt is normal, but don’t let it take root. Catch it. Confess it. Choose to trust God anyway.
Letting Go & Fully Submitting
This is the hardest part—letting go of control.
• You can’t rush God. (Abraham and Sarah tried, and it led to Ishmael.)
• You can’t fight God. (Jonah tried, and ended up in a fish.)
• You can’t manipulate God. (Saul tried, and lost his kingdom.)
But when you fully surrender, peace follows.
🔹 Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) – “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord… and He will make your paths straight.”
🔹 Philippians 4:6-7 (AMP) – “Do not be anxious… but pray about everything, and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds.”
Final Encouragement: You’re Closer Than You Think
Day Two isn’t the end of your story. It’s the middle—the hardest part, but also the most important.
This is where faith is tested, trust is deepened, and strength is built.
So, keep walking. Keep believing. Keep stretching. Resurrection is coming.
Selah! And Shema!
